"Niwok" seeks to promote the empowerment of the Wichi communities, especially the indigenous women. They are based in El Potrillo, deep in Wichi territory, several miles from Formosa’s capital. They share organizational models and production tools with their members, teach them managerial and administrative skills, and encourage them to be makers of their own destiny. They also conduct workshops on topics such as women’s rights, education, health, sexuality and addictions. All products are crafted using age-old techniques.
