This Crossbody Bowling Bag has a tapestry-like textile made from 100% sheep wool dyed with natural inks, combined with cowhide leather, and lined with cotton on the inside.
The Qomle'ec community in Argentina weave the wool provided by the native sheep of the Gran Chaco region, and transform it into these tapestry-like textiles. All garments are dyed using their plants, leaves, barks, and fruits, capturing the vibrancy of their culture in a variety of colors.
Matriarca works together with the Cooperative of Artisan Women of Argentina, who work manually applying ancestral knowledges. For over 20 years, handicrafts have been an engine of economic development for indigenous communities in Argentina, with members from Chaco, Formosa, Salta, and Jujuy.
